What is THCP and what are its effects?

Tetrahydrocannabiphorol is present in cannabis to a lesser extent, making up less than 1% of the chemical content of the plant. It was discovered in 2019 and is currently produced in the laboratory by converting other naturally derived cannabinoids (CBD).

Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which has a 5-carbon side chain, THCP has a 7-carbon tail. It is likely that the longer chain allows THCP to bind more efficiently to the CB1 receptor in the endocannabinoid system.
