CBD oil and drops are a hemp extract, it is a combination of a cannabinoid extract from the cannabis plant and a carrier oil. Carrier oils are used to dilute the CBD and improve bioavailability. Most commonly used are vegetable glycerin or vegetable oils such as MCT (coconut, palm oil), sunflower, olive, avocado or hemp seed oil. 

MCT oil (medium chain triglyceride oil) has the longest shelf life compared to other carriers and is mainly used for the production of hemp oils. And hemp seed oils are one of the most common carriers of CBD oils.

You can get different types of CBD oils, which differ according to the cannabinoids and other phytonutrients they contain:

• Full-spectrum, or full-spectrum, oils contain CBD and other cannabinoids, including THC, as well as terpenes, flavonoids and other ingredients.
  
• Broad-spectrum products do not contain THC but contain other cannabinoids (CBN, CBG) in addition to CBD and vary in phytochemical content (depending on the manufacturer).
  
• CBD isolate is pure CBD that does not contain terpenes, flavonoids or other substances from hemp.

Isolates are considered to be the purest form of CBD products and have the longest shelf life. Full spectrum and broad spectrum oils and drops retain more of the plant constituents and biologically active compounds, but have a shorter shelf life. 

When cannabinoids and other active ingredients act together, the effect of the individual ingredients may be enhanced. This is known as the 'entourage effect'. It occurs with full-spectrum and broad-spectrum products.
