Briefly about CBD
Cannabinoids are compounds found naturally in cannabis. One of the best known is cannabidiol (CBD), which, unlike the famous THC, is not psychoactive. It does not alter our perception of reality and is legal. What's more, clinical trials suggest that CBD has the potential to have a beneficial effect on various bodily processes and can thus directly or indirectly help combat a wide range of health problems. In particular, its abilities to contribute to skin health, fight inflammation in the body, relieve chronic pain as well as anxiety and stress are being investigated.
No burning when vaping
A wide range of products containing CBD and other cannabinoids such as CBG or CBN are currently available on the market. And there are a plethora of ways to experience the beneficial effects of these substances for yourself. One of them is vaporisation, otherwise known as vaporisation. Vaporization could be defined as the process of heating and then inhaling the vapor that passes through the material of choice. This can be dried and crushed herbs, cannabis not excluded, or cannabis concentrates (waxes, shatters, crumbles and oils). They are heated to a temperature where active and healthy substances are released. However, the herbs are never burned or incinerated.
When dried cannabis is vaporised, the herb is heated to a temperature of between about 157 and 220 °C (below the burning point, which is about 233 °C). Each cannabinoid starts to be released from the cannabis plant at a different temperature - for CBD this is 170 °C. The resulting vapour, which contains the desired substances, is then inhaled directly into the lungs, similar to cigarettes.
When smoking cigarettes, the plant material is ignited and then destroyed. This releases tar and various carcinogens. When vaping, the risk of complications and health problems is much lower. The plant material is heated only until the desired cannabinoids are released without burning. Thus, when vaping we inhale vapour, when smoking we inhale smoke. You can choose from a wide range of products that use the vaporisation process, such as desktop vaporisers, portable vaporisers or the aforementioned and very popular vaping pens.
Bulk desktop vaporizers vs. vape foams
Vaporisation used to involve the use of unwieldy and cumbersome apparatus and large table-top devices. Benchtop vaporizers, also referred to as fixed vaporizers, are not portable. However, they have the advantage of much higher vapour quality due to the convection heating device. With convection heating, the plant material never comes into contact with the heating element. The heated air passes through the material thanks to the fan, which allows the material to vaporise more evenly and efficiently.
With technological advancements have subsequently come products such as portable vaporizers that offer a more compact size. These are easy to pack and can be taken on the go or anywhere you need them. However, they are still larger than the increasingly popular vaporizer pens.
Vaping pens (vape pens) are discreet, indistinguishable at first sight from electronic cigarettes. Their biggest advantage is clearly the speed of use. You don't have to wait long minutes for the chamber with the plant material to heat up. The selected disposable pens are activated by swiping, so you can use them immediately. Liquid or dry herbs?

But let's also briefly summarize here what kind of product we are dealing with. Vaporizer pens are very simple devices that combine the advantages of classic vaporizers and minimalist design.
They consist of two parts. The first one is the heating element, the second one is the filling space, which can also be dry herbs. However, it is much more common to see the cartridge in the form of a disposable cartridge containing the so-called liquid. In the Czech Republic, we can also encounter terms such as e-liquid, vape liquid, e-liquid or vape oil. They all mean the same thing - a liquid specially designed for use in vaping pens.
This liquid can contain various combinations of cannabinoids and terpenes, with CBD liquids being the most popular. However, do not vape regular CBD oils you have at home. You will most likely damage your vaping equipment. Additionally, hemp oils intended for dripping under the tongue contain triglycerides, which release harmful by-products when vaporized.
How is the vaporizer pen used?
The first step after acquiring a vaporizer pen should be to read the instruction manual in detail. In essence, however, all pens work very similarly and, most importantly, simply. After the first charge, which depending on the type and manufacturer of the pen may be indicated by an LED light, insert the cartridge (if needed) into the device before turning it on. For most vaporizers that can be controlled by buttons, pressing five times will solve this step. Some pens also allow you to adjust the temperature. As we mentioned above, some disposable CBD pens don't have any buttons, as there's no need to turn them on - they're activated with a swipe.
You don't have to pull too hard when using a vaporizer pen, vaporizers are fine with a slow and gentle pull. And you don't have to hold the vapour in your lungs, the desired substances are absorbed immediately.
