Puffco Plus vape pen Review
Background
Puffco Plus is one of the smartest vaporizer pens. It features a mouthpiece with a built-in tool and has a ceramic chamber that produces fine and tasty vapor. And earlier this year, Puffco released a limited edition Plus called the Puffco Vision Plus. This retains the features of the previous Puffco Plus, but with an all-new psychedelic design.
The Vision Plus has a multi-coloured body that looks very interesting. The power button is neon green while the mouthpiece tip is blue. The "arrow", which is the star part of the Plus model, is slightly curvier than the original. The grips included in the package also come in two different color options.
Design & Features
The Plus has a grey-black metallic finish with a fingerprint-resistant finish that makes it shiny and sleek. It looks good to look at, and when you pick it up, you'll know that even though it has a slim and thin body, it's durable and will last. This is an easy to use vaporizer as it has a single button that is used to turn the device on/off and maneuver between different temperature settings.
Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece is a standout part of the Plus because it has a design and innovation that I've found lacking in vaping pens:
On the outside: The mouthpiece tapers towards the tip, so it doesn't have the classic hourglass look you see on many other vaping pen mouthpieces. It feels good when inhaling, even if the shape is a little different from normal.
On the inside: It has an attachment built directly into the mouthpiece. It's called the "Arrow" and is very useful because you have one less accessory to worry about. Considering how easy it is to lose the tool, it's integrated into the vaping pen by a clever design solution. The tool works better with thicker extracts as it is better at sticking than scooping, you should keep this in mind when using it.
The mouthpiece also serves as a carb-cap and splash guard, which means it allows concentrates to evaporate evenly to create a more potent and flavorful vapor, while also protecting you from "sputtering" when inhaling.
However, the tip, which serves to extend the "arrow", may initially make inhaling from the device feel a little strange. You will get used to it quite quickly, but remember to make sure you have clean hands when using it as they will be touching the parts you will be taking into your mouth.
Coil
Plus it has a ceramic coil that produces strong and clean vapor. And because ceramic is a neutral material, it has no effect on the taste of the wax, so it stays clean. It has a slow heat-up time compared to other types, but heats the wax more evenly. However, ceramic coils can be fragile, and if you drop them, they can crack or break. So be extra careful, especially when cleaning the equipment.
How to use it
The Plus is a simple device with straightforward controls like most vaporizer pens. It also has a Sesh mode where it heats continuously for twelve seconds. This can be achieved with a quick double tap of the power button. It's a great feature, especially if you want longer sessions as you don't need to hold the power button down during them. Whether this is your first or tenth vaping pen, you won't have any problems when using the Plus.
To use you must:
- Remove the mouthpiece from the battery and push the plunger to eject the dart
- Push the dart into the wax and collect a small amount about the size of a pea
- Insert the wax into the coil chamber and then reconnect the mouthpiece to the battery
- Switch on the device by pressing the power button five times.
- Press the power button four times to cycle through the different temperature settings
- Once the heating is complete, hold down the power button and inhale from the mouthpiece

Temperature setting
The Plus has three temperature settings, they are colour coded as follows:Green = Lowest setting | Blue = Medium setting | White = Highest setting
Cleaning and maintenance
Plus it's easy to clean. Simply use one of the included cleaning swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol and wipe off any excess residue in the kettle. For stubborn residues, you can activate the sesh mode repeatedly on the highest temperature setting. This will melt any excess residue.
Because the attachment is integrated into the mouthpiece, you will also have to clean it, but it is even easier than cleaning the kettle. Just wipe it with a damp cloth and you're done.
Performance and vapour quality
The heat up time is quite long compared to some vaporizer pens because the device uses a ceramic bowl, but the flavor produced by the Plus is phenomenal. And because it doesn't heat up quickly, there is less burning of the wax and overheating of the body is prevented. The drag resistance is good that you can get a smooth and tasty vapor at any temperature setting, but my favorite is the middle.
Some people may not like the fact that the Plus doesn't contain a classic coil like most vaporizer pens, but the taste is so good that I don't think it will bother more users. The only issue that someone might have with a ceramic coil instead of a regular coil is that it doesn't produce the thick clouds of vapor that some may prefer.
Battery power
The Plus uses a 520mAh battery that lasts less than an hour, which should be enough for most users to last all day. It can recharge in thirty to forty-five minutes, which is much faster than some pens in the same category.
What could have been better?
I really wished Puffco had improved the battery life when they released the Vision Plus instead of upgrading the Arrow. Yes, the battery life makes up for the charging time, but it's not enough to make it up the ranks of the best vaping pens.
Bottom line
Puffco Plus is a small and durable vaporizing pen that produces strong vapor. I achieved good results even when using a small amount of dab because the device vaporizes the wax efficiently. It has features you won't usually find in other pens in a similar price range, such as an integrated dab tool and a sesh mode that comes in handy for any occasion. Plus, however, it can't produce the big intense clouds that some vapers like. Instead, it produces soft and subtle vapor, which I personally prefer over intense ones.
SUITABLE FOR: Anyone who likes to be discreet and prefers quality vapour over anything else.
NOT SUITABLE FOR: Users who like thick clouds of vapour when vaporising.
