DynaVap has unveiled its flagship HyperDyn — is it worth investing in the latest model?

Robust elegance

I received the HyperDyn in a luxurious wooden box made of African mahogany. Now that's what I call packaging! I opened it and found a premium-looking pen waiting for me.

The robust body is made of medical-grade titanium and has a special DuraDyn finish that gives it a dark metallic sheen and high scratch resistance. Few vaporizers I've tried can match how comfortable the HyperDyn feels in my hand.

The design of the device follows the look of previous models, but is much larger. It retains its tubular shape, but is longer and wider.

This is the first DynaVap model with a so-called Big Bowl chamber with a capacity of 0.25 g, which is 2.5 times larger than previous models, ensuring more intense hits and longer sessions.

The cap has also undergone a change compared to previous models — in addition to having a larger diameter, the Hyper Cap is also thicker and made of titanium, unlike conventional stainless steel caps. This is to ensure longer heat retention. I was surprised that despite its solid construction, the cap heats up quickly and evenly. It also cools quickly, so you can pick it up just a few minutes after vaping.

The airport, which regulates the air supply, has a distinctive appearance — it has recessed edges and is ergonomically shaped to fit your finger naturally.

Vaping options and compatibility

While other DynaVap models allow you to vape concentrates when using the DynaCoil adapter, HyperDyn is unfortunately not compatible with this part and is intended exclusively for vaping herbs.

However, it remains fully compatible with other modular DynaVap components — you can use any tips, condensers and mouthpieces with it. But beware: due to its larger diameter and different geometry, the HyperDyn tip does not fit other models.

You can use DynaVap metal capsules with HyperDyn. You can fill them with a dose of herbs in advance and then simply insert the capsule into the vaporiser tip, which you will appreciate when travelling or if you want to save yourself the hassle of maintenance. However, their disadvantage is their smaller volume and longer heating time. You will receive one capsule with your new product, which is very nice, and they can also be purchased separately.

HyperDyn can also be inserted directly into bongs with 10 mm or 14 mm glass connectors without the need for an adapter.

How to use the pen?

DynaVap specialises in the production of battery-free vape pens designed for ground herbs, and their latest and most expensive vaporiser, HyperDyn, is no exception. No battery = no electronics; you don't need a display or buttons. Using the vaporizer is intuitive and easy:

  1. Open the lid.
  2. Fill the chamber with herbs.
  3. Put the lid back on.
  4. Heat the lid with an external heat source until you hear a click.
  5. Vape.

Once the temperature drops, the lid clicks again — in which case you can reheat it, and if you don't want to continue vaporising, wait at least half a minute until it cools down before storing it.

Maintaining HyperDyn is simple, just wipe the inside of the tip and the condenser regularly with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. When using capsules, the chamber becomes significantly less clogged. It is also a good idea to disassemble the device from time to time, rinse it with hot water and let it dry.

Handling and operation

HyperDyn is designed with comfortable daily use in mind. Although larger than previous models, it remains compact. Thanks to its distinctive shape and wider body, it fits comfortably in the hand.

Heating

The lid can be heated with a flame or induction. If you want to use a flame, it is better to use a more powerful butane burner with multiple flames, which can heat the sturdy lid quickly and evenly.

Although the lid was able to distribute the heat evenly even when I heated it at only one point, for ideal heating it is better to rotate the vaporiser in the flame. If you heat the lid in the centre, you will get a more intense flavour, and if you heat it closer to the end, you will get more vapour.

The HyperDyn can also be heated in an induction heater. However, keep in mind that it is larger than standard models, so you will need an induction heater with a larger opening, such as the Ispire Wand.

Airflow control

The airflow setting is really well thought out and can be adjusted in two ways.

You can intuitively adjust the flow through the airport. Thanks to the recessed edges, it fits your finger perfectly and won't slip, ensuring maximum control and comfort. A simple movement of your fingertip is all it takes to adjust the airflow through the opening to suit your needs.

The airflow can be preset using the telescopic tube of the condenser. There are 7 different settings available depending on the notch on the condenser — the more extended it is, the more intense the draw and the denser the vapour, and the more retracted it is, the looser the draw and the more voluminous the vapour.

Once you find the setting that suits you, you don't need to use the airport setting at all. Personally, however, I found the airport setting more suitable for normal vaping, and I used the condenser preset when I used the HyperDyn in a hookah.

While I appreciate the flexibility of the settings for normal vaping, when I use the vape with a bong, I want the flow to be fixed so I don't have to worry about anything else.

Main advantages and disadvantages

HyperDyn offers a number of design improvements and advanced features that make it one of the most powerful battery-free herbal vaporizers on the market.

Its advantages include:

  • Robust yet elegant and compact design.
  • Intense flavour and vapour.
  • Compatibility with other modular DynaVap components and metal capsules.
  • Direct compatibility with water pipes.
  • Intuitive use, easy maintenance.
  • Advanced airflow settings in two ways.
  • Relatively fast heating, click indication.

I consider the main disadvantages to be:

  • Cannot be used with concentrates
  • High price

Who is HyperDyn suitable for?

HyperDyn is the ideal choice for advanced users who want powerful performance and a wide range of customisation options. It is suitable for those who vape regularly, appreciate a larger chamber and want a vaporiser that is suitable for both home and travel.

If you are a complete beginner, you will probably not be able to take advantage of the HyperDyn's potential. The pen cannot be used to vape concentrates, so if this is a requirement for you, the HyperDyn will unfortunately not be suitable.

If you already have DynaVap model M 7, I would say that considering the high price, switching to HyperDyn is not worth it — I would rather buy an Armor Cap for the M 7, which will give you a similar experience for less money and you won't lose the ability to vape extracts. Although it has a smaller chamber and lower power than the HyperDyn, it provides a very solid experience at a lower price.

Unlike the basic B model, the M 7 has a larger and specially shaped airport. With the Armored Cap, you get more intense hits and significant vapour that comes close to what the HyperDyn offers.

So, what is the best battery-free herb vaporizer? If you want a compact device made of high-quality materials with a wide range of settings, the HyperDyn is the right choice.

Have you tried any of the previous DynaVap models and like the brand, but find the HyperDyn too expensive or feel that you won't get the most out of it? Consider the M 7 model in combination with the Armored Cap.

DynaVap Omni 2021 will delight those who prefer tasty and smooth vapour over performance and are looking for a pocket-sized and elegant device. DynaVap The VonG (i), on the other hand, is ideal for home use with bongs.

Conclusion

HyperDyn is robust yet elegant and fits comfortably in your pocket. It has a distinctive taste and rich vapour. It offers experienced users plenty of options to customise their vaping experience, whether through additional modular components or device settings.

You can also use capsules with it and connect it to water pipes with 10 mm and 14 mm connectors. It is suitable for advanced users who do not want to compromise between performance and portability. However, even complete beginners can operate it — the controls are intuitive, and the only important thing is to heat the device correctly, which you can easily tell by a click

You may be put off by the inability to vape concentrates and the higher price — in which case, I would recommend sticking with the M 7 model and adding the Armored Cap, which will give you more filling options and a similar vaping experience to the HyperDyn at a lower price point.

FAQ

1. Is the HyperDyn suitable as my first herbal vaporizer?

It depends on what you expect from it. The purchase price of the HyperDyn is relatively high, and as a beginner, you will probably not fully utilise its potential. However, it is not difficult to use and the controls are intuitive. So if you want a herbal vaporiser that will last for years and you don't mind the higher price, the HyperDyn will definitely not disappoint you.

Personally, I would recommend the DynaVap M 7 as your first herbal vaporizer, to which you can later add the Armored Cap and get a similar effect for little money – and with the added bonus of being able to vaporize concentrates.

2. Is the HyperDyn suitable for travel?

Definitely yes. Although it is more robust than other DynaVap models, it still fits comfortably in your pocket. Plus, you can use pre-made capsules.

3. Can I use other components with HyperDyn?

With HyperDyn, you can use modular components from other DynaVap models: tips, condensers and mouthpieces. However, HyperDyn is not compatible with the DynaCoil concentrate adapter.

Accessories from other brands may be compatible, but always check the specific dimensions and thread type.

4. How long are HyperDyn sessions?

Thanks to its large chamber, it can handle several heating cycles per fill — usually 3–5 depending on your draw style. The titanium cap heats the contents evenly, and there is no need to stir.

5. How long does it take for HyperDyn to cool down?

Usually 45–75 seconds after heating. The titanium lid retains heat well, but cools down relatively quickly.
