Comparison of cannabinoids HHC, HHC-O and HHC-P
HHC and its derivatives have only been on the market for a while and there is already a lot of hype around them. However, there is still a lack of serious research regarding the effects and possible risks associated with these cannabinoids . HHC
Novelty? Not quite. It was 1944 when synthetic HHC first saw the light of day in the laboratory of American chemist Roger Adams . In very simple terms, it was created by combining THC with hydrogen molecules. It was only later, in 2020, that it became clear that HHC is a natural part of cannabis. However, only in a very small amount and extraction directly from the plant would not be financially worthwhile. Therefore, the HHC we know today is created synthetically in the laboratory. Why is it popular lately? Its effects are said to be less intense and shorter, yet similar to the effects of the well-known, but illegal here, cannabinoid delta 9-THC. After all, we recently brought a comparison of THC and HHC .
Experience with this substance so far suggests that HHC is relatively stable and can have both relaxing and euphoric effects.
Another reason for HHC's popularity may be that as a novelty it attracts naturally curious individuals who do not have the patience for the substance to be further researched.
HHC-O
" O " in the name of this cannabinoid refers to the acetate added to the hexahydrocannabinol , which makes its effects stronger. Delta-9 THC is said to come closest. The onset of effects should be gradual, which may confuse the user. Therefore, it is good to take into account that HHC-O is quite strong and should be treated as such.
HHC-P
This derivative is not very well known and relatively little is known about it. But there are rumors that it is even stronger than delta-9 THC. It shares a seven-carbon tail with THC, so it is thought that their effects on the body and mind could be similar. It is believed to be capable of producing euphoria, a strong psychoactive effect and bursts of energy, and that the effects of HHC-P are felt even by users who consider themselves to be tolerant to THC. To put it lightly : "P" as in fire, but not necessarily in a positive way. Attention! Direct consumption of the pure derivative is not recommended and a small amount of HHC-P in the product is desirable.
Currently (January 2023), the mentioned substances are legal in the Czech Republic, i.e. they are not mentioned in the government regulation on lists of addictive substances. However, these are controversial substances and their status can change, so we recommend monitoring the situation and always acting in accordance with the law in any case.
Summary
There is more and more knowledge about the substances contained in the cannabis plant. Recently, there has been a lot of talk about HHC and its derivatives, which it seems can bring euphoria, relaxation and an overall feeling of well-being to a greater or lesser extent. HHC itself is said to have less intense and shorter effects than THC, HHC-O is bluer , the P in HHC-P is described as even stronger than delta-9 THC. Each body is unique and will react differently to each of the compounds. Since it is a synthetic material, there may be differences from manufacturer to manufacturer. What is certain is that much more research needs to be done to fully investigate the effects of HHC and its derivatives and to responsibly consider the level of risk involved in their use.
