Benefits of vaporization: In which aspects it is a better option

Why it is a wise choice

This may come as no surprise to you: vaporizers are slowly becoming an increasingly popular method of using herbs. It even beats rolling joints nowadays. Vaporizers are generally on the rise, and there are many good reasons for that.

Rolling joints now face the threat of becoming just a memory from the past, overtaken by modern technology. Vaporizers are slowly but surely becoming the first choice for users. This is no surprise, as vaporizers offer many significant advantages over smoking.

Malouff's research

In a study entitled "Experiences of marijuana - vaporizer users," an Australian researcher, John Malouff, decided to assess the pros and cons of using a vaporizer. Malouff consistently identified reported pros and cons by tracking 96 individuals who started using vaporizers.

Vaporization: pros and cons

The benefits Malouff found are as follow:

- Users feel that vaporization is healthier for them because it causes less coughing and lung irritation.
- The taste is much more "purer."
- There is no smoke or a persistent odor
- A stronger effect when using a smaller amount of herbs

The drawbacks are:

- Many vaporizers require maintenance and cleaning
- Delays during use due to the need for setting the device up

84 out of the 96 participants said they were satisfied or delighted with their vaporization experience, and an incredible 97.9 percent said they would continue to vaporize. Malouff also found that only 15 out of all the participants reportedly continued to use tobacco when consuming cannabis. The number dropped down to two when they got the chance to try vaporizing. This indicates that tobacco is not needed in vaporization, making it considerably less harmful.

Malouff came to this conclusion: "If vaporizers become more regularly used and the competition between manufacturers increases, the devices may come to be way cheaper and more available for users, leading to larger utilization. Moreover, the results show that vaporizers deserve further experimental research."

The benefits of vaporization in more details

These results will come as no surprise for an experienced user, and when you compare the pros with cons of vaporization, the pros clearly say it all:

It is simply better for your health.

Probably the most significant advantage of using a vaporizer over smoking is that it is by far better for health on all hands. When you vaporize hemp, cannabinoids present in it start to evaporate instead of burn. This means that you breathe pure steam charged with beneficial active compounds instead of toxins and tar-filled smoke.

When you burn the material, as happens in joints, the generated smoke consists of about 88 percent of non-cannabinoid toxins. This means only a small proportion of cannabinoids get into the smoke. In fact, burning hemp material destroys many active substances and creates harmful substances in this process.

On the contrary, nothing gets destroyed when you vaporize. This leads to a steam formation containing up to 95 percent of cannabinoids. Another 5% is made up of aromatic hydrocarbons and non-toxic oil, caryophyllene. Thanks to this, vaporization is gentle not only for your lungs but also for the body itself and overall well-being.

Stronger and better effects

This goes hand in hand with the point mentioned earlier. Vaporization of cannabis brings a much cleaner experience than smoking. Consuming cannabis by burning destroys most of its beneficial components, while vaporization does not. This means that when you use a vaporizer, there is a much higher concentration of cannabinoids and other steam compounds than in the equivalent amount of smoke. So that is why.

You save money in the long run.

As steam is much stronger and much more effective, you need to use much fewer herbs to achieve the same effect when smoking.  In fact, some reports suggest that vaporizers are 30 to 40 percent more effective than smoking.

This efficiency does not have anything to do with material containing a higher concentration of active ingredients. Unlike smoking herbs, which can show very uneven results, vaporization uses the entire area of the herb and ensures that everything gets used.

If you think about it, a heavy smoker can save quite a lot of money. Thus, even a pricey device can pay for itself very quickly. We address this issue in another article. However, it has been found that it takes about 6 to 12 months before the purchased vaporizer pays off. This, of course, depends on the model and the number of herbs you use.

Better taste

The present cannabinoids are saved from getting destroyed during vaporization. Moreover, flavonoids and other ingredients, which also get the chance to be released into the steam, create a much cleaner and more authentic taste.

Discretion and inconspicuousness

There is no smoke full of tar that stinks up your clothes or personal stuff. The steam dissipates in no time. Only people very near to you can notice. This means that vaporizers are much more hygienic and discreet, for example, allowing portable vaporizers to be used on the go.

No overflowing ashtrays lying around

Another useful fact that emerges from the previous point is that vaporizers do not leave behind any smelly ash. Vaping will leave you with an odorless plant mass that you can put directly into the bin – no more hefty odors in the house.

Some smokers are concerned that the herb preparation and setting up the device are lengthy procedures. If you compare the time you need when using some modern portable vaporizers to the time you spend rolling a joint, it does not make much difference. Vaporization has some very significant advantages over other conventional methods. It is clearly worth the time for consideration. Happy vaping!
