Compatibility

Solo 2 is compatible with dry herbs only. However, it has a secondary function as an aromatic diffuser. In this mode, aromatic herbs can be placed in an "aroma bowl" where the herbs heat up and spread their therapeutic scent throughout the space.

Official accessories

There are a number of different accessories available for the Solo 2, but the most interesting are the various mouthpieces.

The curved mouthpiece

This mouthpiece is curved at the top and allows users to vape without having to hold the Solo 2 directly underneath. This is perhaps the best mouthpiece for the Solo 2 and it would have been nice if it was included in the original package.

Aroma tube with tip

This mouthpiece has a tapered opening that feels more natural when inhaled. It also allows users to inhale less vapor during each puff.

Frosted glass tube

If you're looking to attach a hookah to your Solo 2, this is exactly the accessory you need.

Replacements are also available for any of the accessories included in the original kit. You can get all of these accessories from the Arizer website. If you go ahead, be sure to use an Arizer coupon code.

Design & Features

The Solo2 is a bit large for a portable device, it won't fit in a pocket but it will fit in a purse or backpack. This makes it more suitable for home vaping, and not for a trip or other outdoor activity, especially since you have to keep an eye on the long glass tube.

The Solo2 has a rather bland but functional design. It has a cyclic menu bar that is very responsive, and an OLED display above it that shows important information like temperature settings and battery level. It's also very easy to use, as all you have to do is tuck the end of the mouthpiece into the herb and then insert it into the chamber. It is one of the easiest and fastest filling procedures. The overall cleanliness of the design may not be very exciting, but this is offset by the sheer ease of use of the whole device. It is also a very solid and robust device. Once you grip it, you'll notice that the fit and finish are top notch, nothing here feels cheap or unnatural.

The glass tube is made of durable, heat resistant borosilicate glass. Thanks to the long air path, the steam is kept cool and the flavor is preserved thanks to the neutral glass material. It has four well sized air holes in the baffle, which separates the air path from the mouthpiece section where the herb is placed.

If you want, you can use one of the strainers of the filter, but it is not necessary, especially because if you use the strainers, you have to worry about cleaning them. If you don't strain your herb too finely, you won't need these strainers.

The long borosilicate glass mouthpieces that come with the Solo2 are trademarked by Arizer and are its most notable components. Not only do they simplify the filling process, but their long air path also helps cool the steam before it reaches the user's mouth. The neutral glass material also helps keep the taste of the vapor clean so it is not contaminated by any foreign materials. They may seem too simple, but glass mouthpieces are some of the best parts you'll come across in a vaporizer.

How to use it

1. Insert the bottom end of one of the glass tubes into the herb, tap the end to create a small space between the herb and the opening, and then insert it into the herb chamber.

2. Hold the menu button and the up button at the same time to turn the device on.

3. Press the up-down buttons to select the temperature in 1° increments, hold to select the temperature in 10° increments.

4. When warming is complete, inhale from the mouthpiece.

Cleaning and maintenance

The Solo2 is one of the lowest maintenance vaporizers you will ever come across. Only the glass tubes need to be cleaned, which is easy. The included cleaning tool is used to scrape out any residual herbs from inside the glass tube. This is usually all you need to do, but if you want to be more thorough, you can soak them in isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes and then rinse them with hot water. Occasionally the chamber needs cleaning as well, and you can do this by using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol and holding the Solo2 upside down.

Tip: Don't leave herb residue in the glass tube for too long, as it will dry out, stick to the walls and make subsequent cleaning difficult. Instead, clean the mouthpieces after each session while the mouthpiece is still a little warm and the residue is still loose.

Performance and vapour quality

In addition to its fast filling, the Solo 2 is also pleasant to use thanks to its extremely fast heat-up time. And unlike smaller vaporizers, the Solo2 doesn't get hot after extended use.

The vapor from the Solo2 is smooth, clean and cool thanks to the hybrid heating system and borosilicate mouthpieces. This is because the mouthpieces give the air a long path that cools the vapor and keeps it clean. A longer mouthpiece is better for keeping the steam cool. The steam is hotter with a shorter mouthpiece, so keep this in mind when deciding which mouthpiece to useThe resistance to coating depends on the density of your grind and how you compact the herb in the chamber. If you don't crush the herb well enough and use too much of it, coating can be quite difficult. Finer crushing and looser filling will cause the steam to flow more freely.

Solo2 produces a thick, visible steam. The vapor is denser at higher temperatures while the flavor is better at the lower end, think about this when choosing your temperature.

The Solo2 will hold about 0.15 grams of herb, but you don't need to fill it to full capacity if you don't want to. It is possible to use micro-dosing. However, to vaporize the herb, you will need to set the temperature a little higher than usual. The Solo 2 is one of Arizer.'s better dry herb vaporizers Arizer.

Battery power

The Solo2 has one of the longest lasting batteries, lasting up to three hours of operation without recharging. If that is your interest, you can have multiple sessions in a row. It takes ninety minutes to charge, so you'll never be without its services for too long. And as a nice bonus, the Solo 2 has pass-through charging so you can continue vaping even while it's charging.
