8-OH-HHC is a hydroxy derivative of HHC with an added hydroxyl group on the 8th carbon. This derivative is formed by oxidation of HHC under the action of the enzyme cytochrome P450, which is abundantly present especially in the liver. Commercially available 8-OH-HHC products are produced by chemical synthesis from HHC.
Although research is still lacking, based on experience with other HHC derivatives, it is suggested that the effects of 8-OH-HHC will be similar to those of THC or HHC. However, they are likely to be less intense.
8-OH-HHC has psychoactive effects and may affect perception, induce feelings of euphoria, relaxation or increase appetite.
