What is the 10-OH-HHCP?

10-OH-HHCP, or 10-hydroxy-hexahydrocannabiphorol, is a chemically modified derivative of hexahydrocannabiphorol (HHCP) that is produced by enzymatic oxidation of the HHCP molecule with the participation of cytochrome P450, which is found primarily in the liver. During this biochemical process, one hydroxyl group (-OH) is attached at the 10th position.

Currently, 10-OH-HHCP products are produced by chemical synthesis from HHCP. HHCP is a derivative of HHC (hexahydrocannabinol), differing in the length of the side chain, specifically HHCP has 2 carbons longer alkyl chain.

Effects of 10-OH-HHCP

The side chains in cannabinoid compounds can affect the interaction ability and pharmacology of cannabinoid receptors, as evidenced by 2018 research. Based on this, it is hypothesised that this compound may exhibit better activity at CB1 receptors in the endocannabinoid system, therefore having psychoactive effects.
